Service
Skid Steer & Mini Excavator Work
Compact equipment gets into places full-size machines cannot, which is most residential property work.
Overview
This covers the general dirt work that does not fit neatly under one service name: moving material, digging, backfilling, spreading, grading small areas, and helping other trades get what they need done.
Compact machines are the right tool for residential property. They fit through gates, work between a fence and a house, and disturb far less of the lawn getting to the work area.
If you are not sure which service a project falls under, this is usually the conversation to start with. Describe what needs to happen and we will tell you what it takes.
Common Reasons Property Owners Need This Service
Tight or gated access
Back yards, side yards and narrow lots that larger equipment cannot reach.
Material moving and spreading
Relocating soil, gravel, mulch or fill within a property.
Small digs and trenching
Footings, posts, short utility runs and shallow trenches.
Contractor support
Machine time and an operator for builders, landscapers and other trades.
Mixed-scope property projects
Jobs that need a bit of digging, a bit of grading and some hauling all in one visit.

Questions
Skid Steer & Mini Excavator Work — Questions
- When would a mini excavator be used instead of larger equipment?
- On tight lots, behind gates, near structures, and where a big machine would tear up more ground than the job is worth. Smaller machines trade speed for access.
- Can equipment get into my back yard?
- Usually, if there is a gate or side-yard opening wide enough. Measure the narrowest point and mention it up front.
- Do you do residential and commercial work?
- Both — residential and small commercial. Larger heavy-civil work is outside what we take on.
- Can I hire the machine and operator by the day?
- Tell us what the day would involve and we will quote it. Scope and access determine whether that makes sense.
- Will equipment damage my lawn?
- Tracked machines spread their weight, but wet ground marks up regardless. We route travel to limit it and discuss the trade-offs before starting.
- Do you locate utilities?
- Public utility locates should be requested before digging, and private lines like irrigation, invisible fence and septic should be marked by the owner.
